TetherShot for MAC

Free, open-source Mac app that captures pixel-perfect iPhone and Android screenshots over USB or Wi-Fi, saved to a folder and copied to the clipboard.

TetherShot Overview

TetherShot is a free, open-source Mac app that captures your iPhone or Android screen with one click. A trusted iPhone connected by cable is captured at full resolution through macOS's own AVFoundation, with no setup, and Android phones are captured through ADB over USB or wireless debugging. Each screenshot is saved as a PNG to a folder you choose and copied to the clipboard, and a global shortcut, Command-Shift-7, captures every connected device or one preferred phone from anywhere.

Cable-free iPhone capture over Wi-Fi is possible too, but it needs more setup: the pymobiledevice3 tool, a small tunnel service installed with your admin password once, and Developer Mode on the iPhone. Android capture needs Android Platform Tools. On the first USB capture macOS asks for Camera permission, because the iPhone screen arrives through that privacy category; TetherShot does not use your Mac's camera. The app is local-first, with no account, analytics or servers. It is made by Apoorv Darshan under the MIT licence, needs macOS 14 or later and comes as a signed, notarized universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
